For Patients:

At Oak Brook iCAT, we use the i-CAT 3-D Dental Imaging System to take a Cone Beam 3-D CT scan on you right here in our office. This is a new standard of care for the oral implant specialists, periodontists, oral surgeons, ENT specialists, and allergists. The i-CAT allows dental specialists and physicians to obtain a 3-Dimensional view of specific targeted regions for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes.

Traditional Catscans have been available at hospitals and x-ray centers for many years, but those systems emit a very large dose of radiation. The i-CAT emits a dose less than that of a full mouth series of traditional dental x-rays. The scan time for the i-CAT is 9 seconds, which is also much shorter than tradional CT scans.

With an iCAT, skeletal, hard tissue (teeth), soft tissue and other anatomical features can be studied in great detail after just a 9 second scan with less radiation than a complete full mouth dental xray series. This is an amazing advancement in diagnostic and planning tools for oral implant specialists, periodontists, oral surgeons, ENT specialists, and allergists. They have an tremendous amount of information available to them when diagnosing, treatment planning and preparing to perform any surgical procedures.

The i-CAT’s high resolution, volumetric images provide complete 3-D views of critical anatomy for more thorough analysis of bone structure and tooth orientation to optimize implant treatment and placement, and selection of the most suitable implant type, size, location, and angulations prior to surgery.

More accurate three-dimensional views of impacted molars. Determine more precise tooth position to visualize impaction within the alveolar bone, location relative to adjacent teeth, and proximity to vital structures, such as the nerve canal, sinus walls, and cortical borders.

The i-CAT’s ability to provide three-dimensional images of the condyles and surrounding structures allows for complete analysis and diagnosis of bone morphology, joint space, and function – all critical to TMJ dysfunction treatment and care. Ten-second, high-speed scan captures TMJ open jaw views quickly and accurately.

Open Monday through Thursday from 9:30AM to 5:30PM
